Description
Lenovo UpdateXpress System Pack Installer (UXSPI) is a software application that applies UpdateXpress System Packs and individual updates to your system. This article describes the procedure used to run UXSPI to perform individual updates to your System x servers.

Downloading firmware
- Go to the Lenovo Data Center Support Web site.
- Under Support, select Data Center.
- After the page loads, select Servers.
- Under Select Series, select your server hardware series.
- Under Select SubSeries, select your server product subseries.
- Under Select Machine Type, select your machine type.
- Download the firmware that you want to update.
Solution
- Download the UXSPI tool from the UpdateXpress System Packs Installer Website.
- Go to the folder where you saved the tool, right-click lnvgy_utl_uxspi.exe and select Run as administrator.

- In the Update Task window, select Update the local machine, and then click Next.
- In the Updates Location window, click Look in a local directory to select the firmware file that you want to update, and then click Next.
- In the Update Type window, select Latest available individual updates, and then click Next.
- In the Update Recommendation window, a list of packages will be displayed with details about currently installed component versions and versions now available. Select the packages you want to upgrade, and then click Next.
- In the Update Options window, you can select options to customize the updates. Click Next to start updating the packages.
- A progress meter will show the progress of the update.
- When the firmware update is complete, click Next.
- Work through any recommended procedures displayed on the screen after clicking Finish to complete the update process.
